How to keep participant video size consistent during screen sharing?

Hi everyone! 👋

We’ve noticed that during Zoom meetings, the participant filmstrip shrinks when someone starts sharing their screen, even though we set it larger initially. It sometimes resets again if another participant shares.

Is there a way to lock the participant video size throughout the meeting or recording so it doesn’t shrink unexpectedly?

Would love to hear how others handle this layout issue, especially for recorded sessions.

Hi @James Smite,

Currently, Zoom does not offer a way to lock the participant video size (filmstrip) during screen sharing. The participant video panel will automatically adjust and may shrink when someone shares their screen, and it can reset if another participant starts sharing.

For recorded sessions, the layout is also determined by the active sharing and recording settings, so the participant video size cannot be locked throughout the meeting or recording.

If maintaining a consistent video layout is critical, you may want to consider spotlighting specific participants or using the "Side-by-side: Speaker" or "Side-by-side: Gallery" view, but these settings are still subject to some automatic adjustments by Zoom.

Please feel free to reach out anytime if you need further assistance.
