While showing a film, activating the sound optimisation function, recently a pop-up started appearing: "Disable voice isolation. "

The instructions to disable voice isolation do not help.

Please tell me how to disable Voice Isolation.

This has never happened before.
The sound quality of the video has deteriorated a lot.

  • Device type MacBook Air M1

  • Zoom version 5.17.11 (31580)

I also get that popup, but it's when I try to turn on "original sound" for musicians. It blocks me from doing so until I can "turn off voice isolation". However, when I go to the audio settings, voice isolation is never activated, so I can't turn it off, so I can't ever use the "original sound" setting! How to resolve this zoom error?

I have same problem, has anyone helped resolve it?

I don't remember exactly, but what someone suggested, that seems to have worked beautifully, was to stop looking in zoom and instead look in either Safari or the Mac System settings. I think I did in the Mac settings, and did a search for "voice isolation" [or maybe it was just one of those terms], and it came right up. And once I'd disabled  it on the Mac, it no longer gave me a problem in zoom. So now the "original sound" works perfectly.

@Frank_TB, That's all very well in showing how to use and enhance voice isolation, but is irrelevant to the subject at hand, namely how to use 'Original Sound" when the error message 'Turn off Voice Isolation to enable Original Sound", and one hasn't ever turned VI on!!

The topic of the thread is "How to disable Voice Isolation?"

The link I shared explains how to enable and disable VI. VI, noise reduction from Zoom or from the operating system or from driver software can interfere with Original sound.

Thanks Frank_TB, the difficulty was with two of us who had disabled VI on zoom but were still getting error message when trying to activate Original Sound - the question was, if not on zoom, then where? I was sharing that I'd discovered a VI function in my Mac settings, that I [and the other poster] hadn't realized was there, and that was the cause of the problem.
