How about a Zoom streaming service ?

Zoom already provides streaming to YouTube and Facebook - and almost any other service using RTMP.

Streaming platforms are very expensive to run.  The free ones are paid for by advertising - and I'm not sure something like that fits with Zoom's business model.

Private streaming platforms (like Vimeo, or even Akamai) charge (the streamer) for their services. Usually premium.

If Zoom did develop a steaming offering, I would expect it to come at a premium price also - as I would not want it to be supported by advertising!

But Zoom's specialty seems, to me, to be real-time communication. Streaming is one-way - and return chat and reactions are delayed because of buffering.

For very large events, it would be nice to see an in-house method to accommodate big audiences beyond the current large meeting/webinar limits. But that's at an Enterprise level where the potential costs are more bearable.

For the community side of things, Zoom does have https://on.zoom.us/ - which is a way for producers and providers to engage with their audiences and customers (within the Zoom platform).

Certainly if you have a large paying audience - like for a concert - then the numbers stack up more nicely! Maybe most likely as an evolution in https://events.zoom.us/

Meanwhile, we may see more streaming and engagement options pop up in the Zoom App Marketplace. https://marketplace.zoom.us/apps
