Host video thumbnail not showing in recording with screen sharing

Hi.

Usually when I host a meeting involving screen sharing, the recording includes both mine and the participant's video for the whole meeting (in thumbnail form while screen sharing). However, when I hosted a meeting yesterday, my (the host) video thumbnail did not appear in the recording when screensharing (though both host and participant faces appear when not screen sharing, as expected given I always use gallery view). 

Could the (new) participant in my meeting yesterday have had settings at their end that cause this to happen? They were not a co-host so I wouldn’t have thought so. Any idea would be appreciated.

      great question.

      Can i suggest you look at the recordingf settings for the account, there are a number of different ways to record in the cloud.
      If you recording locally then the simple answer is, what you are viewing is what is recorded. So if you look in gallery view, that will be reocorded, fi you switch to speaker view, then that it recorded.

      If you are recording locally - be aware that waht you are looking at is recorded.

      This is helpful John as I’m having a similar issue. In my zoom recording settings, I have “Record video during screen sharing” toggled to on, and am recording locally. However, when I open the mp4 file, I can see my thumbnail while I’m screen sharing for the first 30 seconds, then it disappears. I didn’t stop and reshare my screen, nor change any settings. Do you have any idea what could be causing this?
