Headphones and computer speaker both on

Hi,

I engaged a ZOOM meeting 2 days ago, at 5:30 am USA time, and encountered a problem with my audio.

Both my headphones and computer speakers were both on at the same time.

I only wanted my headphones on.

Can someone please advise?

If you are on a Mac you may have an "Aggregate Device" or "Multi-Output Device" configured. These provide the ability to output to multiple devices simultaneously.

You can take a look in the Mac app "Audio MIDI Setup" to see if this holds true.

I have a similar problem. In the classroom the only way to play a video is through zoom which I control from my computer. When I try to play a video, both the speaker of my computer and the speaker of the class computer turn on. I can't get the system only play shared sound. I tried to plug my headphones into my computer, but the sound sharing stopped. I am on a pc.

Hello, it's been a long time.  Please try finding the setting on Control Panel.

There is a setting on control panel that turns off something, like the speaker?  It's been a long time.
