Question

Failure to Share Screen from M2 MacBook Pro

I have a Pro account and set up our Meetings as relatively open. People join when they wish. I would also like anyone to be able to share their screen. When I try to regain screen I get an error saying that I do not have permission to share my screen. Very frustrating and getting direct assistance is of course impossible.

Two questions then: Does anyone have suggestions for what I'm doing wrong? Secondly is there a multi-platform product that is more transparent than zoom out there?

Thanks

Hi Clark,

I don't have an answer to you, but I have a MacBook Pro and I have experienced that permission error, but here's the thing -- so have (and still regularly do) many of my colleagues who are zooming in via their Windows machines.

I think it has to do with Zoom account login state -- usually if the host does a sign out-back in to Zoom, that resolves it for everyone. I may not have that exactly right. I'll ask around and update this thread if I need to.

The other thing you might try is to install the "Zoom Workplace" version of the Zoom app.

Good luck!

Usually, when a host looses permission to screen share it is often because someone else became the host. This may happen when someone else also signs in to the same account and claims host instead of claiming co-host. It can also happen if the host makes another participant the host so that participant can screen share. If you wish to retain host permissions do not do either. If someone has claimed host from you then you can go to your name in the participant list and reclaim host.
