External mic during zoom meeting using phone app for android

I have an external mic to record interviews with people during an event (to help minimize background noise) and cannot figure out how to apply it to zoom. My phone recognizes the device and completes the connection but I can’t seem to get zoom to use it.

Great question.

If it can be seen as an audio device then it can be used in Zoom.
If I assume you are Mac, then you want to use Continuity Camera.
