Does recording a meeting use extra energy?

@sadams - I don't think there have been any studies done on the energy required, but assuming you are using a relatively modern computer, your storage should be solid-state which means the recordings are not using much energy at all since there are no moving parts.  Even if you are on an older computer, the disk drives were not huge energy consumers, so the power required would be minimal.  

Do you turn out most of the lights in the classroom (if you are doing an "in-person" class), to use less energy?

Is the classroom (or all the students in their homes) using LED lights that use less than 1/5 the power of

Incandescent/fluorescent lights?

If you stop recording, does that decrease the ability of the students to learn by reviewing the recording?

How many students in the class are using notebook computers to take notes during the class?

If there are 20 students, and 1 teacher, that is 5% more energy than 20 students and no teacher.

How many hours/day does the average student consume energy on their smart-devices, while scrolling through social-media, as compared to a one-hour class?
