Different languages in the meeting transcrpt

I use Zoom to teach Korean Professionals. I use the transcript feature to assist in administering lessons and offer feedback. Although those in the meeting are speaking English, The transcript is recording what they are saying in Korean. This has never happened before. Any insight as to how to change this would be greatly appreciated

Hello, @DrLYT!  Welcome to Zoom Community! We’re excited to have you here.

I can understand how confusing and disruptive that would be, especially when you rely on transcripts for lesson feedback and administration.

A practical fix is to change the transcript language for each recording and let Zoom regenerate it:

    • Go to Recordings & TranscriptsCloud Recordings
    • Open the meeting recording
    • Hover over Audio Transcript
    • Select Change Language
    • Choose English and click Save

Zoom will then regenerate the transcript in English.

For now, Zoom’s current setup works best by selecting the transcript language per recording, which allows the transcript to be regenerated accurately in English whenever needed.

    Hi,
I am running into an issue where if I enable the transcript (without recording the meeting, I want the transcript to compare the Zoom transcript vs AI Companion for capturing notes...) the language changes midstream.  The trigger, I believe, is someone on the call is of Eastern European heritage, but is speaking in English.  Midstream, the conversation changes from English to Cyrillic characters from 30-90 seconds or so, and then switches back.

Here is an example.  We’ve noted this several times with the same group over the the past week.

Yeah, they come from the form that faculty fills out. So, for faculty, these are the questions, but on the admin side, we don't need this explicit, big.

    [Person 2] 13:35:22

If you scroll like, I don't know?

    [Person 1] 13:35:23

    Е?

    [Person 2] 13:35:27

    Я?

    [Person 1] 13:35:40

    Цей лєбель із Антигу?

    [Person 2] 13:35:43

    П'єс?

    [Person 2] 13:35:44

    Ясно?

    [Person 2] 13:35:47

    500, адмін?

    [Person 2] 13:35:48

    Єс?

    [Person 1] 13:35:48

    Окей?

    [Person 2] 13:35:52

    Сучасництва?

    [Person 1] 13:35:56

    Окей?

    [Person 2] 13:36:02

Що? Он. Google form? Right Now?

    [Person 1] 13:36:04

    Як?

    [Person 2] 13:36:10

But because we don't have yet, we only have Google Form that will be, like, uploading, right? They will create upload file, they upload it, that's what we give them. Uh, so for faculty, we will, like, for.

    [Person 1] 13:36:10

    Okay.

    [Person 2] 13:36:10

    До сайті?

    [Person 2] 13:36:24

COMPANY co-authors. We need ID’s, but let's… we… maybe Satya will say for the upload formats to complicate it, let them do manually.

    [Person 2] 13:36:36

For non-COMPANY authors, that will be just a text field, right? Because it's… we don't have that information. But for COMPANY people, right?

    [Person 1] 13:36:42

    Sure.

    [Person 2] 13:36:47

    It will be

    [Person 2] 13:36:48

    Соняць?

    [Person 2] 13:36:50

    Комплекс?

    [Person 1] 13:36:56

    Ніколи?

    [Person 2] 13:37:00

    Ґента?

    [Person 1] 13:37:04

    Є декіль?

    [Person 2] 13:37:08

    Окей. Окей. Формат, Я?

    [Person 1] 13:37:11

    Децит?

    [Person 2] 13:37:13

    Ми будемо?

    [Person 2] 13:37:24

    У.

    [Person 1] 13:37:28

    Угу?

    [Person 1] 13:38:04

    Так, мільйон?

    [Person 1] 13:38:08

    Кого спонсор дитину. Я вставляю?

    [Person 2] 13:38:26

    Органайзер?

    [Person 1] 13:38:30

    Ці, Лібера?

    [Person 1] 13:38:33

to see this is how we will be storing. If they provide the information like this, it is okay.

    [Person 2] 13:38:38

    Okay.

This can happen multiple times in a 30 to 45 minute call.  I can provide other examples.  The entire conversation is being held in English.

Is there anything we can do about this or where would we report it?

    Thanks.
