After installing the older version of Zoom (windows7 64-bit), from the link above. The camera works just fine in the older version.

What happened?

The camera is no longer working in Zoom.

Versions before Zoom Workplace work with the camera. If I upgrade to Zoom Workplace, the camera no longer works.

Hi @Jimtech, can you try switching to different Video Capturing Methods under Zoom settings -> Video -> Advanced to see if it helps?

I didn't use zoom since last year or more. I installed the latest, 6.2 on Dell 5540, joined a meeting, saw the cam light blink and go off. Had to restore/fix seetings in MS Teams, my WIN10 for integrated cam.  Zoom settings all tested checked, recognizes integrated cam, cam does not work. Spent lot of time looking, trying, no solution, even Advanced video cam settings change do not help.

Hello @pjrose,

Welcome to the Zoom Community! We're glad to have you here.

I'm sorry for the late response and the inconvenience you experienced.

There have been issues with the integrated camera having issues in some Dell laptop models; this should have been fixed on the 6.2.0 update. Kindly update the Zoom app on the affected device and let us know if you need further assistance.

Thank you and have a good day.

Reddit has been working to solve this since Zoom's help assumes that the Camera isn't working, but most of the time Zoom is the ONLY app having problems with the camera.

Zoom seems to handle cameras differently than other apps. With updates to Zoom, drivers and the OS, sometimes various “modes” stop working. In my cases, video worked in Teams/Camera and even Zoom Web/Chrome, but one day quit working in Zoom. One Lenovo Yoga needed #3, and another Yoga needed #5 and #6. All other settings were correct. I've collecting the responses. The following reasonably could be the problem.

If the camera isn't working anywhere (Camera App, Teams, etc):

  1. Check the camera privacy switch/cover.

  2. Confirm that there is no active “function” key for disabling the camera on your keyboard.

Zoom specific:

  1. Uninstall/Update Zoom

  2. From u/lavitz99  Confirm the recording of the meeting if you see the popup.

  3. From u/ReactionOk2307 : Try HD and/or Original ratio.

  4. from u/Bwaki  Disable Video Blur

  5. From u/DimVolakis : Disable Antivirus Webcam protections (Norton, ESET, etc.)

  6. From u/Redsunyoga : Going into Zoom, clicking Settings -> Video -> Advanced, Setting Video Capturing Method to Media Foundation, and closing and reopening the Zoom app."

  7. From u/Sad-Palpitation-1358 : Windows: Allow Camera app through the Windows/Antivirus Firewall.

  8. From u/pamycl : Windows: Start > Settings > Privacy > Camera : Let desktop apps access your camera is turned On.

  9. From u/AFairAmountOfBees : In Windows settings, go to the Camera page (or search "cam" and click "Choose which apps can access your camera"), then scroll to the bottom and enable "Allow desktop apps to access your camera".

  10. Reinstall Webcam Drivers
