Convert Scheduled meeting to No Fixed Time meeting and retain meeting ID?

How can I convert a Recurring Scheduled meeting into a No Fixed Time Recurring meeting and retain the same meeting ID?  The No Fixed Time Recurring meeting has been used to feed into a live webcast for several years.  I am not clear exactly how it happened, but I suspect the meeting type has been accidentally changed to Scheduled when the meeting URL and ID were included in a Google Calendar entry notifying about a short test meeting.  I did not know that this was possible.  Changing the meeting ID would mean alterations in several platforms and notifying various clients, so we want to avoid this if possible.  We have set the recurrences to six months apart to secure the meeting ID, but this adds spurious entries to our calendar so is not an elegant solution.

    hi @RichardJolly

    Welcome to the community
OK, two ‘hacks’ because this is not really caterred for.

    1. Everybody has a PMI account with a fixed meeting number (you can select a new one, if it is not used by anyone else) and pass. You can then use that whenever you want and poeple will know how to connect.
    2. You can “cheat” by setting an meeting and make it way in the future. Zoom does not stop you then opening that meeitng early and using it multiple times. You can always then change the date to futher in the future.
(if you take notes or recoedings, you have to accept they all attach to the same meeting, so maybe try it for your use case)

Please like and mark as the solution if this helps

    All the best

John, Thanks for the suggestions.  I keep my PMI for occasional personal meetings etc.  Re setting a meeting in the future, how far in the future can that be set and still retain the meeting ID?  Does the same rule apply as for one-off scheduled meetings, that the meeting ID will be deleted a year after the last use?  Should the meeting be scheduled within the next year?

John, thanks for the reply.  How far in the future can a meeting be set?  Would the meeting ID be deleted if the next scheduled time was in more than a year’s time, in the same way that any scheduled meeting ID is deleted a year after its last use?
