Computer Recording Issue

Hi,

I just completed some very important interviews and recording them to my computer (a mac).

When I find the files they are 'documents' and when I double click to convert I receive this message.

There is no application set to open the document “double_click_to_convert_01.zoom”.

Search the App Store for an application that can open this document or choose an existing application on your computer.

My computer was idle for 30 minutes in the middle of the session but I wasn't recording.

I have tried to log out and restart my computer as advised by Zoom Facebook help.

Any help in retrieving them would be great!

Cheers

Steph

hi @Huddo12
This means the recordings are still in their custom state when live recorded. They need to be converted to standard audio files.
But the mac loses the connection between those files and the zoom software.
THere are some youtube videos that could explain
All the best

Hello,

This article lists common local recording conversion issues and troubleshooting suggestions.

https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0061761

  1. From your desktop, click Gothen Applications.
  2. Find zoom.us and right-click on the folder then select Show Content package.
  3. Open Contents then Frameworks
  4. Find Transcode, right-click and copy it
  5. Open the Applications folder in Finder and paste the Transcode app.
  6. Go back to the location of your local recording file then right-click on double_click_to_convert_01.zoom.
  7. Click Get Info
  8. Set Open with to Transcode
You can manually convert the recording when you double-click on file double_click_to_convert_01.zoom.

Regards
