Question

Co-Host's Ability to Select Gallery View for Recording

I am Member 2 on a paid Zoom Account with co-host/admin’s privilege.  For our first meeting the Owner set up the meeting, I started the meeting and gave me recording privileges.  I selected “Record to Cloud” since I know that option lets you save ALL the files - speaker, gallery, chat, etc. which I can then access through Recordings & Transcripts. When reviewing the recording, we found that only the speaker’s view got recorded.  We don’t need the speaker’s view; we need gallery. How do we ensure that that DOES occur when I exercise the co-host on meetings that the Owner sets up?

hi @Lola Lee Beno

Cloud recordings can capture multiple layouts simultaneously, but this must be set in the Recording settings on the web portal before the meeting starts. Changes made after the meeting begins won’t apply.

Adjusting recording video layouts

Support article Notes:

  • Cloud recordings are available with the Zoom desktop app, mobile app, web portal, and Zoom Rooms.
  • Cloud recordings can capture multiple layouts simultaneously, but this must be set in the Recording settings on the web portal before the meeting starts. Changes made after the meeting begins won’t apply.
  • Changes to participants' personal views don’t affect cloud recordings.
  • The host and co-hosts can start, pause, and stop cloud recordings. After the session ends, the recording will only appear in the host's recordings list on the web portal.

Please see Adjusting recording video layouts for details.

Thanks,  eliot
