Change to a specific private meeting ID

The personal meeting ID has been changed by creating a new company account. You cannot change or deactivate the personal meeting ID because the old account has expired as a pro.

Can we change the personal meeting ID of the new account to the old one because the company wants to keep holding meetings with the existing personal meeting ID? It says that there are already users.

    Hello @경기도의정부교육지원청,

Welcome to the Zoom Community! We’re glad to have you here!

You cannot assign the old Personal Meeting ID (PMI) to your new account if you see the error "PMI already in use." This means the PMI is still linked to the expired (old) account. PMIs cannot be reassigned between accounts unless the original account is active and releases the PMI. Even with a Pro subscription on the new account, the PMI must first be freed from the old account before it can be reused

    Hi @경기도의정부교육지원청

If the Personal Meeting ID is used on another account, you can not take contorl of it. Unless you can connect to the old account and change that first.
You could try transferign the email account of the old user to the new account.
Otherwise it is stuck and I have no information from Zoom on how long it will stay allocated, but it may becoome avialable after a time

Please like and mark as the solution if this helps

    All the best

    Hi,

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to reuse or transfer the old Personal Meeting ID (PMI) to your new account once the previous Pro account has expired or been deactivated. Each Zoom account has its own unique PMI, and if the system says “there are already users,” it means that ID is still reserved in Zoom’s backend and cannot be reassigned.

Even if you’ve created a new company account, PMIs are not transferable between accounts, especially if the original account is no longer active or accessible.

    What you can do instead:

    • Continue using the new account’s PMI and share it with your team/clients going forward
    • Set up a recurring meeting with a fixed meeting ID as an alternative to maintain consistency
    • Update your meeting links in emails, calendars, or websites to avoid confusion

If keeping the same meeting ID is critical for your organization, your best option would be to contact Zoom Support directly and explain your situation—they can confirm whether anything is possible, but in most cases, it isn’t transferable.

    Hope this helps!
