Can't hear a user that others hear

;When I'm in a meeting, it often happens that there is one user that I can't hear but others can. It is only that user that I can't hear; everyone else can hear me, but I can't hear them.

In addition, I don't pick up anything played by a musical instrument--even if a user has 'original sound' toggled. Again, everyone else can hear them.

I've messed with the playback settings I found in 'audio' but nothing seems to make a difference. Does anyone have any ideas?

    hi @Chris Paquette

There is no reason why you can not hear a person others can hear.

You can not hear musical instruments becuase zoom sees that as background noise and removes it.
To hear musical instruments and other sounds other than spoken words, the person who is playing the instrument must use orginal sound so zoom does not remove their music.

hope that helps. Please like my reply if it does

Well, there must be some reason that exists why you can not hear a person that others can hear.

I will tell you what just happened to me in a meeting where I was a guest, not a host. There was one person that I could not hear; everyone else could hear her. So I left the meeting and then signed out of my zoom account. Then I went back to the meeting (just using the “web client” connection provided by the host) and I could hear her. I still don’t understand the reason behind it, but that is what worked for me.

    hi @Amy Rosenberg ,

    There are only setup reasons.

You have your volume turned down

You have selected a different output devcice than the one you expect to hear.

I also use the audio check before EVERY meeting.

I hope that helps. Please like my reply if it does
