billed twice
Buyer beware with Zoom billing.
I recently paid my annual Zoom subscription. When I submitted the first payment, Zoom indicated that the payment had been denied, so I submitted the payment again. I subsequently discovered that my credit card company had approved BOTH transactions.
I contacted Zoom Support and explained what happened. Zoom has refused to refund the duplicate payment. I even offered what seems like an obvious alternative: apply the second payment to another year of service. Zoom refused to do that as well.
The result is that Zoom received payment for two years, while I receive only one year of service.
I have now canceled my Zoom subscription. It remains active until the current subscription period expires, after which I intend to switch to Google Meet.
I understand having a nonrefundable subscription policy. I do not consider retaining a duplicate payment caused by an apparently failed transaction to be a reasonable application of that policy.
Buyer beware.
