Auto Allowing the Controller into Meeting

My apologies in advance — we’re in the middle of switching over to Zoom Rooms company‑wide, and I’m still climbing the learning curve.

I set up the first office yesterday and the core setup works, but I’m running into one issue: the controller/room doesn’t seem to be allowed into Google Meet calls.  The host has to allow the room in, which we don’t want..

I’ve read up on interoperability and everything appears to be enabled. I even generated the token in Google… I just have no idea where that token is supposed to go.

Has anyone seen this before or have ideas?

Hello @Jay Douglas! I apologize for the delayed response.

What you're seeing is the default behavior. Zoom Rooms joining a Google Meet must be admitted by someone already in the meeting unless a Google Meet interoperability token has been configured. Since you've already generated the token in Google Admin, the remaining step is to add it to your Zoom account settings:

    1. In the Google Admin console, go to Menu > Apps > Google Workspace.
    2. Select Interoperability tokens and click Add a token.
    3. Choose Zoom from the dropdown list.
    4. Enter a name for the token and click Create a token.
    5. Copy the token to your clipboard and click Close.

Important: Google only displays the token once, so make sure you copy it before closing the window.

Next, add the token to Zoom:

    1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
    2. Navigate to Room Management > Zoom Rooms.
    3. Select Account Settings and open the Meetings tab.
    4. Locate Support Interoperability for Zoom Rooms.
    5. Click the edit icon next to Google Meet Interop Token.
    6. Paste the token and save the changes.

Once the token is configured, Zoom Rooms should be able to join Google Meet meetings without requiring the host to manually admit them.

I hope this helps! Thanks for your contribution and for being part of the Zoom community.
