Others say they can’t hear me but I hear them fine. New iPad. I have to get my mouth really close to the microphone for them to hear me.

    Hi ​@Cindy M,

     

    I’m sorry to hear that you are having this experience. On an iPad, this usually points to the mic being blocked, Zoom not having mic permission, or the iPad using an unexpected microphone.
     

    Try these in order:

    1. Check Zoom mic permission (iPadOS)
    • Open iPad Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone
    • Make sure Zoom is ON.
    1. In the meeting, switch audio and re-join
    • Tap Audio (or the ^ next to the mic) and choose Leave Audio
    • Then Join Audio again (choose Call using Internet Audio).
    1. Make sure you’re not muted / mic is actually active
    • Tap Unmute and speak—look for the input indicator moving (if shown).
    1. Check for mic blockage / case issue
    • Remove any case/screen protector that could cover the mic ports.
    • Try rotating the iPad (some cases block mics depending on orientation).
    1. Test with a headset
    • Join with wired EarPods/USB-C headset or Bluetooth headset and see if the problem disappears. If it does, it’s likely the iPad mic/port or iPadOS routing.
    1. Restart / reinstall
    • Restart the iPad.
    • Update Zoom from the App Store (or delete/reinstall Zoom).

    Thank you!! As it turns out, after going over everything you had suggested and working with the internet, it was my new iPad 11 A16 chip that the microphone quit!! I sent it back. So far my next new ipad is working. 🤞
