I am getting an echo, not all the time, but particularly when I am zooming with a particular person

Hello, @Don burnham! Great to have you here in the Zoom Community. Welcome!

If the echo only happens when you're meeting with one particular person, that's a good clue. In most cases, the issue is coming from their audio setup rather than yours.

A few things to have them check:

    • Make sure they're connected to audio only once. If they're using computer audio and also joined by phone, disconnect one of them.
    • If they're using speakers, ask them to switch to headphones or earbuds. If that's not possible, lowering the speaker volume and moving the microphone farther away can help.
    • Check that Zoom isn't connected to audio on more than one device. For example, if they're in the meeting on both a laptop and a phone, only one device should have audio connected.
