Alfred Note Taker - Unable to Remove

Hi Zoom Support Community,

I am writing for help with an issue regarding an AI notetaker named "Alfred" that automatically joins every Zoom meeting I attend.

I am using a free personal Zoom account on a Mac with all system and Chrome updates installed. This bot appears whether I use the Zoom desktop application or the web browser. I cannot find "Alfred" listed as an installed app on my laptop or within my Zoom account settings.

Currently, the bot can only be removed if I am the meeting host. In meetings where I am a participant and the host is also unable to remove it, the bot remains in the session. I have been unable to find any information online regarding this specific tool or how to disable it.

Could you please help me identify why this is happening and provide instructions on how to permanently prevent this bot from joining my meetings?

Thank you!!

    Hi Jacob,

It sounds like an external AI notetaker app—called “Alfred”—is automatically joining your meetings without your consent. This usually happens when a third‑party integration or calendar‑linked automation is authorized to join meetings on your behalf. Here’s how to identify and stop it:

    Check for connected apps

    1. Sign in at Zoom.us
    2. Go to Settings → Apps → Installed Apps (or App Marketplace → Manage → Installed Apps).
    3. Look for any app with names like Alfred, AI Notetaker, Fireflies, Fathom, Otter, or Read.ai.
    4. If you find one:
      • Click Remove or Uninstall.
      • Confirm removal for all users if prompted.

If you don’t see “Alfred,” it may be connected through your calendar or meeting invite links rather than directly in Zoom.

    Revoke third Party Apps

    1. Visit https://marketplace.zoom.us/user/installed and remove any suspicious apps.
    2. Check your Google Account → Security → Third‑party access or Apple ID → Apps Using Apple ID for any app named “Alfred” or similar.
    3. Revoke its access if found.

    Adjust Zoom Meeting Settings

    To prevent bots from joining:

    1. In Zoom Settings → Security, enable:
      • Only authenticated users can join meetings
      • Require passcode or waiting room
    2. This ensures no automated participant can enter without host approval.
