AI Companion - Update?

Hello everyone,

I’m having an issue with Zoom AI Companion.

I already have a Zoom Workplace Pro account, and according to the plan details, AI Companion should be included. However, whenever I try to use the feature, Zoom keeps showing a message telling me to upgrade or update my plan in order to access AI Companion.

The confusing part is that I already have the required Pro subscription active.

Has anyone experienced the same issue or knows what could be causing this?
Do I need to enable AI Companion somewhere separately, or are there any additional requirements?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi @Markus H,

Thank you for joining Zoom Community! If you already have Zoom Workplace Pro but Zoom AI Companion keeps prompting you to upgrade, it’s usually one of these:

    • You’re signed into a different Zoom account than the one that has the Pro subscription (common if you have multiple emails, SSO vs email login, or you’re joining via a work account but signed into a personal one).
    • AI Companion isn’t enabled at the account/group/user level by the account owner/admin (some AI Companion controls require admin enablement).
    • Your role doesn’t have the needed permissions (AI Companion access/controls can depend on owner/admin settings).
    • In some cases, availability can vary by region/industry.

    Try these quick checks:

    1. Confirm you’re signed into the correct account

      • In the Zoom Workplace app: click your profile picture and verify the email/account.
      • Also confirm the same email/account is the one that shows “Zoom Workplace Pro” in the web portal billing/subscription area.
    2. Check whether AI Companion is enabled in settings (if you’re an admin/owner)

      • Sign in to the Zoom web portal
      • Go to Settings and search for “AI Companion”
      • Make sure it’s enabled at the right scope (Account / Group / User), and not locked off at a higher level.

I had a similar issue before, and it turned out AI Companion wasn’t enabled at the admin/account level even though the plan supported it. Check your Zoom web portal under Account Settings > AI Companion and make sure it’s turned on for your user/group. Also verify you’re signed in with the same account that has the Pro license assigned.
