Adding new dates to a reoccuring meeting with registration

I need to add two additional dates/times to a Zoom meeting with a registration link. Fortunately, as of today there is only one registration for the August meeting, but I am worried that if I add dates/times, I will lose that registration. I believe I can download that registrant and then re-register them, but I want to make sure the registration link doesn’t change. Does anyone know how I can do this?

    Hi Amanda,

Good news — as long as you edit the existing meeting (don't delete and recreate it), your registration link will stay the same and your current registrant should be preserved.

To add the additional dates, go to your meeting in the Web Portal → click Edit → update the recurrence settings to add your two new date/time occurrences → Save. The meeting ID and registration URL won't change, and existing registrants remain registered for their original occurrence.

As a precaution, I'd recommend exporting your current registrant list before making any changes (Meeting → Registration tab → Export/Download CSV). That way if anything unexpected happens, you can quickly re-register them.

Just avoid these actions, as they will break the registration link:

    • Deleting and recreating the meeting
    • Switching between recurring and non-recurring
    • Turning registration off and back on

    Hope that helps!

I'd export the current registrant list first as a backup. In most cases, adding new occurrences to the same recurring meeting won't change the registration link or remove existing registrations, but it's worth testing the link afterward to be safe.
