I made  the mistake of using read.ai and I cannot figure out how to get rid of it.

People are now kicking me out of meetings due to the read.ai appearing in the chat.

You should note that Read Ai works with all of the major meeting platforms.  (Microsoft Teams, Google, Web Ex, Zoom)

it’s not just a Zoom issue.

I think I have the answer.

The documentation from Read.AI unfortunately is inadequate. There are multiple ways for the application to have access to your meetings. First, you need to turn off access to your Zoom account. If you remove the application as listed in the documentation, that is not enough. I banned the app in our Zoom marketplace settings, but it was still joining meetings for a user that had accidentally installed the app.

If you are using Zoom Workplace, you actually have to remove the cache listed here

You also need to remove calendar access from Google, Webex, and M365 as well. Even if the app does not have direct access to Zoom, it will still read your calendar and join meetings.

Finally, don't delete your account until you have removed all connections to SSO from external providers and have entered a password to use directly with Read.AI. This way you can disable all integration access first, test to see if the software no longer joins, and then when it is actually disabled, delete your account.

This app really wants to get access to your data, and removing it is a pain. I have asked Zoom to review their ratings since this app behaves very poorly in my opinion. Turning off Read.AI's setting to join meetings didn't actually work when the cache was still present. Probably a bug, but it just doesn't sit right with me.

I had an even weirder thing happen. I added read.ai to my zoom. It jumped into my HOA community meeting which was not even a zoom meeting. It was a Google meet. That was two months ago. I did not join this month's meeting because I was at a family birthday, but somehow read.ai was still embedded in the person's Google meet software. It showed that I was present in the list of people attending, and then sent a meeting summary to all of the HOA members from me. I am trying to figure out how that could possibly have happened, and to disconnect it. The summary was apparently not even a little bit correct, which made it even worse. Any thoughts?
