If I purchase the fully functional ZOOM app will I be able to disable the auto lower hand feature after speaking. It is very disruptive to meetings moving smoothly.

Hi, @buymv.

Unfortunately for you, this is a new behavior which applies to all accounts as of June 5. See the information contained in Release Notes here:

https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/16262334455821-Release-notes-for-June-5-2023

Specifically see:

  • Raise hand enhancements - Windows, macOS, Linux
The visibility of participants that have raised their hand is enhanced to make it easier for hosts to be aware of raised hands and take action to address that participant. A new notification will appear for those who raised their hand, with the option to immediately open the Participants panel and take action, such as requesting their unmute to ask their question. Users can enable an audio chime through client settings for when someone raises their hand. Lastly, after speaking with your hand raised, Zoom will start a countdown to lower your hand, unless manually canceled by the user.

Upgrading your account won’t change this behavior.  While many people do find the new behavior helpful, I know that some aren’t a fan if it. My recommendation is to submit a Feature Request asking that Zoom provide a setting to control whether this new behavior is enabled or disabled
