Question

Not Receiving Email Notifications When Participants Join

Please please help!! I am not receiving notifications to my email when people join my direct Zoom link. I had been for months every time someone joined - got a notification to my email. It would appear both on my phone and laptop. But now it is very very inconsistent and has not been reliable. Very occasionally one will arrive to my phone often delayed, but not to my same email on the laptop. I work with a school remotely seeing students. It is very important to get this fixed. Without them it’s incredibly inconvenient and not efficient and leads to problems. I have connected with the district Tech support team and they believe it’s a Zoom issue (that just I am struggling with) and haven’t provided further support.
Please read through these carefully to avoid repeats and back and forths. Here is what comes to mind that I have tried & triple confirmed:

  • Host email notifications when Participants join are turned On in Zoom Meeting Settings . When attendees join meeting before host is On
  • Notifications are turned On in the email app
  • Both Zoom and email are granted proper permissions
  • The notifying emails are not going to Spam or Junk or any other folder
  • The meetings are not tied with a calendar. It is not calendar based.
  • I read one forum that a notification is triggered if An attendee is waiting for the host to start the meeting (join before host is disabled and waiting room is enabled) or An attendee has joined the meeting before the host (if the join before host setting is enabled and waiting room is disabled). I’ve tried both alterations - no resolution.
  • I am logged into the same email on both devices. Both in Zoom and email. My work email is tied with Outlook .
  • It is the proper Zoom link provided
  • I am the Host with the proper privileges
  • I cannot do any tech heavy development coding since this is a school laptop certain things are locked.
