I am attending my first zoom event, and I don’t see any sort of microphone option. I wish there was something confirming that I am muted. Does anyone know if the lack of any sort of mic display means that no one can hear me? I completely muted my computer mic after a minute but I’m just curious.

it does depend how you join a webinar or meeting.
If you joined with the browser then your browser may not have connected the microphone or camera.
If you are in a zoom workplace app then the mic is bottom left.
If it looks like this then no mic is being used
If you join a webinar and sometimes in meetings the host may stop you turning on your microphone.
It is always best to ask in chat.
