Zoom Canvas for iOS: A Dedicated Mobile Space for Collaboration on the Go
Whether I'm commuting between meetings, working away from my desk, or simply capturing an idea before I forget it, I want quick access to the documents and information I use every day. The new Zoom Canvas standalone mobile app for iOS makes that easier by giving me a dedicated space to access, create, and organize Canvas documents directly from my iPhone or iPad—without needing to navigate through the Zoom Workplace mobile app.
What's inside
After signing in, the app opens to a Home tab showing recent and starred documents, with quick search built in. From there:
- My Docs holds everything I've created, plus system folders for notes, meeting summaries, agendas, and recordings
- Shared shows files and folders teammates have shared with me
- Inbox keeps me on top of comments, mentions, and access requests—filterable by Unread, All, Mentions, or Requests
I can create a new document right from my phone, using the same Canvas building blocks I'd use on desktop—text formatting, tables, to-do lists, mentions, and even AI-assisted content generation.
Works alongside Zoom Workplace, not instead of it
This app doesn't replace Zoom Workplace—it's a focused space just for Canvas. If I have both apps installed, I can turn off Canvas notifications in Workplace so updates land in one place.
Search "Zoom Canvas app" in the App Store, tap Get, and sign in with my Zoom account. Requires iOS 16 or higher.
Final thoughts
The Zoom Canvas standalone iOS app gives me a convenient way to keep documents, ideas, and collaboration moving even when I'm away from my computer. With dedicated access to recent, starred, personal, shared, and team-related content—as well as mobile notifications for comments and activity—it helps make Canvas a more practical part of my everyday workflow.
Have you tried the Zoom Canvas app on iOS? How are you using it to stay productive between meetings or while working away from your desk?
