The absolute state of Zoom

Over the past couple years, but the last year in particular, the utility of Zoom has been undermined by spam.
Zoom’s strategy has been to offload this problem to its customers.

“Just Unsubscribe”
Zooms unsubscribe utility simply DOES NOT WORK.  For the umpteenth time, here’s the proof.  All of these are from one account.  I unsubscribed after every email (you’re welcome for the free labor)

“Just fill out our Trust & Safety Forms”
Honestly, all you need to do is look in your OWN spam folders and imagine taking the time out of YOUR day to navigate to some company’s trust and safety form and fill it all out.   It takes minutes.
I’ve received a dozen Zoom spam messages in the past day..  Just exactly how much free labor do you want from us?

ZOOM’S SUPPORT STRATEGY UNDERMINES ITS PRODUCT STRATEGY
Zoom bills itself as an AI company.  Yet their AI capabilities seemingly can’t recognize these exquisitely simple spam patterns.  You can’t provide unsubscribe that works.  You can’t create a 1-click Trust & Safety report.  You can’t accelerate development of anti-spam measures with your amazing AI capabilities?   Yet we’re supposed to believe your AI solutions are going to provide us more value as Zoom customers?

    Hi @RDF ,

Thank you for your patience while we looked further into this. We reviewed your account and confirmed that you have used the unsubscribe option for some of the invitations you’ve received. However, we also confirmed with our engineering team that the “Unsubscribe from All” option has not been enabled on your account. This distinction is important because Zoom’s unsubscribe functionality is tied to the specific host/account sending the invitation, rather than the content of the invitation itself. For example, you may know and want to receive invitations from one particular host, so Zoom does not automatically block all webinar invitations simply because you unsubscribed from another host.

In your case, it appears that some of the invitations may contain similar or related content, but they are being sent by different Zoom accounts/hosts. As a result, unsubscribing from one host does not prevent a different host from sending you an invitation.

If you do not wish to receive webinar invitations from any new hosts going forward, the recommended option is to select “Unsubscribe from All.” This will prevent new hosts from pre-registering you for future webinar invitations.

You can find instructions for managing these email preferences here: Unsubscribing or resubscribing to webinar and event emails

We understand how frustrating it can be to continue receiving unwanted invitations, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. If you enable “Unsubscribe from All” and continue receiving these invitations, please let us know so we can investigate further.

    Thank you!

No.  This is still offloading the problem to paying customers.
Unsubscribe from All is unworkable for the reasons you explain yourself.  I get legit invites to conferences.

The answer on Unsubscribe is also unacceptable.  Are you saying you allow the same people to create multiple accounts of the *exact same name*?   Are you telling me that every time I unsubscribed from “Telkomsel” it was a different account?
If they’re all multiple accounts, how come they all share the same URL prefix?  (telkomsel.zoom.us)
And if all of that is really true, then tell your engineering team to do better.  Force unique account names.  Allow us to unsubscribe from whole accounts.  If that’s not possible, allow us to unsubscribe from all accounts of the same name.

Then use that (supposed) AI expertise to blanket ban the people who are making  your platform unusable.

Whatever you do, telling your customers that spam is THEIR problem is going to wear thin sooner or later.  You aren’t the only conferencing tech on the market.
