Stop using someone else's connection

I was using the account belonging to someone on our church’s staff to run a discussion group.  When the group stopped meeting I wanted to get out of seeing her name on my picture whenever I logged on but I can’t.  How do I disconnect from someone else’s account?

    Hello @Paula Burgan,

Welcome to the Zoom Community! We’re glad to have you here.

It sounds like you may still be signed in to Zoom using the staff member’s account, which is why you see her name and profile picture. To disconnect from someone else’s Zoom account and use your own, follow these steps:

    1. Sign out of Zoom:

      • On the Zoom desktop app: Click your profile picture in the top right corner, then select Sign Out.
      • On the Zoom web portal: Click your profile picture or initials in the top right, then select Sign Out.
      • On the Zoom mobile app: Tap Settings, then tap your name, and select Sign Out.
    2. Sign in with your own Zoom account:

      • After signing out, you can sign in with your own email and password or create a new Zoom account if you don’t have one.

If you’re still seeing the other person’s name after signing out and back in, make sure you’re not using a browser or app that’s remembering the previous login. Try clearing your browser’s cache or uninstalling and reinstalling the Zoom app.
