What file types are viewable in Team Chat?

ECollins, this isn't the exact answer, but it will send you on the right path because it showcases file transfer use, but has links to articles for Admin controls.  Admins can prohibit file transfers by type of file.  We support many of the types in your example:  pdf, doc, docx, xls, xlxs, and lots more.  Please check your account and group setting controls in the admin portal to ensure that you're not restricted from sending file types due to security, risk, and compliance management.

Thanks for the reply. The question is what file types can be viewed *without dowloading* them, like we can with JPG files. We want to view PDFs or DOCs without first downloading them. Do you know what file types can be viewed within Zoom Teams Chat?

It has been two years now and we still can't watch videos in chat without downloading them. This was available in Slack many years ago. What's the hold-up? 

And still we wait for this to be fixed.

As far as I know, Zoom Team Chat only shows a live preview for images, JPG, PNG, that kind of thing. Videos, PDFs, and DOC files all still need to be downloaded first, there's no inline viewer for those yet.

I looked around and there doesn't seem to be an official list Zoom publishes for this either. It's actually come up a lot in the community, people have been asking for PDF/video preview support similar to what Slack and Teams already do, but it just isn't there in Zoom Team Chat right now.

If you look in your zoom settings you can set what files are allowed in meeting chat. However, this setting could be over-ruled by your zoom administratrator. But if not they are here.
