Quality of voice recording

This is for one-on-one recording of a podcast.  I use a Samson Q2U; my guest last week was using a Blue Yeti mic.  My internet was from a Fibe Network.  My guest is a podcaster as well and records for his office.  The quality from his end was muddy, something that does not happen with him when he does his own episodes.  Can we review settings at my end to determine whether I have missed something.  Can we keep advice simple; not familiar with some of the settings and their meaning?  Would sending a sample of the recording help in providing an answer?  I have several recordings coming up soon and I want to make sure I get this situation resolved.  Thanks,
