Notifications after update

Hi,

Since the latest update of ZOOM, I don’t see the “badges” or numbers of unread messages in my taskbar (Windows).  Before You could see a red number on the ZOOM icon in the Taskbar if you had an unread message.  Now it’s just blinking for a moment.

If you see a message coming in, it looks like it want’s to set a number as notification, but instantly it’s changing into a red dot and after a second, the dot is also disapearing.  

Is this a common thing in the update?  Or is it a setting somewhere else?  Or is the feature not working anymore?

If I roll back to previous version, the number above the icon is working when having unread messages.

      I am having the same problem, and I HATE it. And I don’t care for the new emojis at all either!!

      AHA, I think I’ve solved it! I went into settings and then into “Chat,” and then turned on “Show unread count for meeting chats.” Now I’m getting the badges on the ribbon again! ...But the new emojis are still ugly, sigh. I want the old ones back.

      I wasn’t able to go straight from the Chat tab to turn on “Show unread count...”, however, I was able to get there by going into Settings, Chat, and then clicking on Manage next to “Manage badge settings” and then I could toggle “Show unread count for channels” and “Show unread count for meeting chats”.

      Same issue here with no solution I can find. Zoom chat no longer allows me to edit notifications by individual chat - only for channels, which is insane. We use this for work and I’m constantly missing messages from my staff now because there’s no visual indicator that I received a message if I didn’t hear it ping when it came through.

        Yeah, I didn't even notice that the screenshot option had moved until last night. I snarled aloud. And my fix for the notifications is proving a bit hit and miss. Sometimes I get the badge on the ribbon icon and sometimes I don't. And thus far I can identify no rhyme or reason based on whether Zoom is minimized or behind another window or whatever. I am missing messages because of it. HATE the new update!!!

        What I have come to find is that if I leave my focus on a chat “A” then minimize, the badge notification will blink for chat “A”, but then go away.  If on to any other chat or channel and minimize, then badge notifications for chat “A” stay until read.  Very frustrating since I am frequently multi-tasking and chat either gets minimized or hidden behind other windows.  If you are not intentionally clicking on to another chat or channel, then you miss parts of a conversation or delay the communications.  😡

        I don’t have a perfect fix, but we have found that only the chats you have open when minimizing Zoom is being affected. If you always select your personal chat (the Chat to yourself) before minimizing, it has always worked for us since the update. 

        It’s just annoying to have to remember to click that every time before you minimize.
