Hello.

I need to use Zoom for online teaching, but i can't even open the file on my laptop, to install it!

After downloading the apk file, when i right click on it, i get the option to open or save.  When i click on open, nothing happens!

Please could somebody help me solve this problem, so that i can finally install Zoom?

Thank you so much!

Marlene

Ps I don't have any other Zoom downloads on my laptop, and i've cleared the cache.  I dunno what else to do!

It sounds like the issue might be that you downloaded the APK file. APK files are designed for Android devices and won't install on a Windows laptop.

If you're using Windows, download the Zoom desktop installer (usually an .exe file) from Zoom's official download page instead. Once it's downloads, double-click the .exe file to start the installation.

If you already have the Windows installer and it still won't open, let us know:

    • Which version of Windows you're using (10 or 11)?

    • Does the file have a .exe extension or is it actually an .apk?

    • Do you get any error message when you try to open it?

With that information, it'll be much easier to pinpoint the problem.

The problem may be that you installed the APK file. APK files have been created for Android devices and will not install on Windows laptop computers. For Windows users, download the Zoom desktop installer (typically, an `.exe` file) from the Zoom official download page. Once it's downloads, double-click the `.exe` file to start the installation. If you already have the Windows installer, and it still doesn't open, inform us: What is the version of Windows that you are running (10 or 11)? Is the file an .exe or is it an .apk? * Do you get any error message when you try to open it? With that information, it'll be much easier to pinpoint the problem.
