Does the facility to allow users to join before the host actually work?

In my zoom account I activated the setting:

"Allow participants to join before host
Allow participants to join the meeting before the host arrives"

and the instructions are clear this is exactly what it will do. But after doing this I have the same problem, users have to wait for the host. Why is this? Does this thing actually work and have others found a problem with it too?

Make sure the waiting room is not activated.

Yes did that too as you have to select either passcode or waiting room and I use pass code. It is still very odd why it won't let other participants in before myself.

Are you participating via the Zoom app?

Enter your meeting ID through the zoom app instead of the invite link to join before the host starts!

I have the same issue. I tried the above settings and what you suggested, its still not working.

Any idea why?

Are you able to set it up as follows?
If not set to anytime, if the host starts and ends the test before the meeting time, participants may not be able to join the meeting until the next time the host starts the meeting.
