Any hacking going on?

I received a text message asking me for my Zoom email.  I did not have any Zoom account, but I quickly downloaded Zoom, giving me a Zoom Personal Meeing ID and a Zoom Host Key.  I then received an email from the person with a meeting link.  When I clicked I get this message:  
Sorry, your friend invitation confirmation link is used. (124)

I am wondering if I got fooled into giving away my Zoom account?

Hacking happens all the time.  Sounds to me like someone was inviting you to a Zoom meeting, sent you an email which asked you to get a Zoom account - which you did. And then by the time you clicked the link, they had ended their meeting.  May or may not have been hacking/phishing attempt, but I wouldn't worry about it unless you get people asking you to give them your Zoom login and password... handing out your credentials like login ID and password is always a bad idea.

 

Hang on to your Zoom account!  You can keep your free Basic account forever, just to be able to join meetings quickly and use the standard Zoom application, as opposed to joining with the (clunkier) web interface.
