Hello.   Currently I have AI companion which I use to record and transcribe calls and feed into my AI machine to help create next steps, project plans and follow up emails.  The challenge I have is when I do not set the call up using my Zoom account or I am on TEAMS or Google Meet, I cannot get the benefits of using AI Companion.  I am thinking I need to look into another product such as OTTER, but before i do I wanted to know if any of you know if it is possible to invite the AI companion to meetings you are having outside of your zoom account and in Google Meet and Teams. I appreciate any feedback anyone can provide.

Hi @Kenneth Grosso, welcome to Zoom Community!  The current AI Companion features such as recording, transcription, and smart summaries are designed to work within Zoom Meetings and Zoom Phone. At this time, the standard AI Companion can’t directly join or be used in meetings hosted on other platforms like Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.

That said, there are two options that could help you extend your workflow and still capture valuable insights from meetings outside Zoom:

    1. My Notes – This feature lets you capture and organize key takeaways, action items, and next steps from any meeting, even those not hosted on Zoom. You can jot down notes manually or summarize external meeting content, keeping everything synced in your Zoom workspace. It’s a great way to ensure your follow-ups and project plans stay consistent across platforms.

    2. Custom AI Companion – If you’re looking for a more advanced, automated solution, Custom AI Companion allows you to tailor AI capabilities to your unique workflows. With it, you can:

    • Integrate data from multiple sources (including external meeting notes or recordings).

    • Generate summaries, project plans, and follow-up emails automatically using your own data inputs.

    • Maintain privacy and control while leveraging Zoom’s secure AI infrastructure.

I also recommend keeping an eye on our Zoom release notes and the Zoom blog for updates as Zoom continues to expand cross-platform AI Companion capabilities.
