I had a client call today I created via Zoom.  I use Fathom to record the meeting.  What I learned is that during the meeting I couldn't find how to stop Fathom.  What I discovered is that after the meeting there was no Fathom recording.  BUT, the client is using the Read tool.  It tookover the meeting recording.  And, it recorded after the client left the meeting so the client got to here our private conversation.  This is incredible.

That is unbelievable. I just use Zoom Workplace so nobody will help. My hp laptop calls into the mtg I’m just watching. Screen goes black with large green spiral- calling into the mtg. I don’t know how or why. I have to logout asap & miss the mtgs

I was on a Google Meet call two months ago.  My read.ai somehow attached itself to the Google Meet, even though we weren't even using Zoom, and the Meet account belonged to someone else.  Two months later, there was another meeting, same woman's Meet account.  I wasn't even THERE.  I was at my granddaughter's 12th birthday.  Yet MY read.ai account showed that I was present at the meeting, and then sent a meeting summary to everyone under MY NAME.  I have uninstalled read.ai from Zoom, but I have a terrible feeling that it is like a virus that has already skipped to that woman's Meet program and nothing I do is going to fix that for her.   And to add insult to injury, it appears that the meeting summary wasn't even accurate.

That's a really important heads-up — thanks for sharing! Read AI can automatically join and record meetings if the organizer has it enabled, and yeah, it can override other tools like Fathom if permissions conflict. The fact that it kept recording after the client left is definitely a privacy concern. Best to: Double-check who owns the meeting and what AI tools are connected. Always confirm when a tool like Fathom is actively recording. Maybe avoid private chats in the same Zoom call unless the AI bot is confirmed to be gone. Hope you were able to address it with the client — tough situation.
