Otter AI starts recording my calls: I have never authorised it & my Account settings say disabled

I'm a coach and have always refused to accept Otter AI for confidentiality and trust reasons. It is a business risk.

Today Otter AI has started recording all my calls automatically. I've never authorised it. I logged on to my Account settings and double-checked - it is all disabled.

Why is this happening and how can I change the default to get rid of Otter AI?

It might be useful to have it for non-coaching calls but I want to be able to OPT IN.

I do not want to have to spend hours trying to work out how to OPT OUT!

Hi Sally! We definitely want you to have control over when an application joins your meetings. My best guess is you may have connected Otter.ai with your calendar, which sends in its OtterPilot app to join Zoom Meetings connected to the calendar. .

You may need to sign in to Otter, and follow the steps here to disconnect:

https://help.otter.ai/hc/en-us/articles/12906714508823-Stop-OtterPilot-from-automatically-joining-your-meetings

Summarizing - Sign in to Otter.ai. Click the gear settings icon on the upper corner of the homepage calendar. Under the OtterPilot section, toggle off Auto-join all meetings.

Thanks for your reply. This didn't help. "Auto-join all meetings" wasn't selected. Can you suggest something else please? I am very annoyed that this has been activated against my will and is so difficult to deactivate.

I have the same problem. Now I have deleted my otter.ai account and I still get otter.ai entering my meetings. How do I get rid of it

If this is your Otter ai account you will need to deactivate your account and disconnect from both Zoom and your calendar. If this it is not your account it means it is joining on behalf of one of your participants. In that case you will need to enable a waiting room and require authentication to ensure bots are not joining your meeting. Alternatively you can use Salepager to verify that attendees are human prior to joining your Zoom meetings.
