Disable AI companion permantly

I don't want the AI companion attending my meetings. I've switched it off in multiple places all over my account, and yet it pops up as a participant every single time. My meetings are private, I don't want any other parties listening in. It's a massive security black hole. It's so annoying to block it manually for every single meeting.

How do I uninstall it, when it was never installed in the beginning. I went through the AI support, and everything it suggested is already off.

@april26  , Zoom AI Companion does not join your Zoom meetings as a participant.  Its natively built into Zoom so the way you can tell AI Companion is active in your meeting is to click the Blinking AI Diamond in the upper right hand corner of your meeting.

Can you tell me when you are in a meeting what exactly it says in the additional participant?  That may help us better understand what the actual service is you are using.  Perhaps a screen print would be of value as well.

Get this off of my system now.

Please reply how to do that, and if you can't i will switch to some other service.

Hello @Lloyd4! I’m sorry for the late response. You can check out this article for enabling or disabling AI Companion features using the universal toggle.

Let us know if it helps or if you need further assistance.

Thanks for asking this, @Lloyd4, because I had the same problem (and I’m sure many others will, too. AI = gross.)

After turning off all the options in the “AI Companion” tab, make sure you also go to the “General” tab, and check the “Manage which Zoom apps can join as a participant in meetings and webinars in your organization” in order to block 3rd party AI from sneaking into your meetings. Sadly, there doesn’t seem to be any way to keep AI out of meetings hosted by others.

I also turned off everything under the “AI Docs” tab, too. There was a pop-up warning on almost every toggle, begging me to understand how much I was losing by refusing to embrace the wonders of AI. It was hilarious; I felt like Bill Bailey getting letters from the AA.

(I recommend watching that sketch after doing all this, by the way. Enjoy the work of a creative and brilliant human, and take your mind off the slime that is “AI”.)
