Hello, I am hosting a webinar (requiring webinar license), and we are uncertain of the number of registrants/attendees. It might be greater than 500 people, but it could also be greater than 1,000 people. Is it possible to send the webinar registration/invitation and then upgrade the license later as needed? To do that, would I have to send a new invitation/link (I'd want to avoid that)? Thank you!

While it’s not recommended to try to upgrade your license moments before your meeting starts, you should know that Zoom only checks your webinar (or meeting) capacity when the session is started. So you can wait until maybe the day before and upgrade your webinar license accordingly. You’ll need to be sure to assign the license to the Webinar Host/owner, and if this is a one-time upgrade, be sure to mark it as Monthly Non-recurring so you’re not automatically renewing it.
Also keep in mind that attendance rates vary widely, but 50-70% of registrants is usually a good estimate.
An approach to hold down costs is to decide how many live viewers you want inside the Webinar, then stream to YouTube and point overflow attendees there to watch. Consider having someone designated to monitor and “host” YouTube chat.
