Control Production Studio while backstage?

We are hosting a zoom event and want to be able to control the zoom production studio from backstage without joining the webinar ourselves. How can we do this?

We are finding we have to start the webinar to set up production studio first which eliminates the waiting room.

Help please!

Hi, I'm not a huge expert on PS but just checked and you can definately turn on PS before you start the webinar.  If you want to be backstage I suggest you have another computer on stage to manage the PS.

I also think this is important. Producers should be able to control Production Studio FROM backstage and not have to be on stage. This frees up the host to host and be on camera without juggling switching scenes. This seems like a no brainier to to me. As a professional event producer this is just the way it’s done outside of Zoom.

    Please add this feature!

    Hi @David D Martin ,

Techcnially it is a much more complated procedure for the software, which is why it has not been done that way.

    hi @vhnewview ,

As production studio needs access to the poeple on stage and then to create the bots that deliver, it is tecnically a very differernt setup and more compliated and that is why it has been setup as it is.

It does not stop the waiting Room. You can start the event, enter the stage and then start production studio. Then the waitign room will be active.

As this point you can have the speakers all join without the webianr still starting.
Lastly you can start the webinar which will bring everyone into the event.

I am using this process more that four times a week for the last six months.
It is just a case of understand the process. The wording of the buttons could be better I would agree.

As far as I know, the Production Studio in Zoom Events usually requires the webinar to be started before it can be configured. A common workaround is to start the webinar early with only hosts/panelists present while attendees stay in the waiting room or lobby. That way you can set up the production layout before going live. It would be great if Zoom allowed full backstage control without starting the webinar.

@tom cary thaqt is not true, you can start production studio and use it before the webinar is started.

You just need to go onto the stage from backstage to be able to start it.
the watiring room will hold everyone there if you want.
THe auto recording will not start untill you open the webninar

I do that at least 4 times a week and it works fine. You must have a webinars or events licence to use production studio
