Cannot see what other participants when they are sharing their screens

Hi all, hope you can help me!

I am unable to see any screens that are shared with me on zoom calls.  I have checked settings and everything that I can see is turned on and ready to go.

I only have a basic account but I didn't think this should matter

Thanks in advance

Being unable to see any screens is not reflective of a basic license, you are correct. There is a setting that users have about whether or not they can share their Zoom application (this is off by default for security purposes). When individuals share their screen, what do you see?

Hi rory,

Thanks for coming back to me - I have thsi set up as you have

When others share

It looks like everything has been configured to allow it to occur but I still cannot see.

Perfect. That means when you share your screen, it will share the Zoom application. If folks are trying to share their screens with you, and you aren't seeing their Zoom application, that may be the culprit.

But you mentioned that you are "unable to see any screens". Does that mean you are seeing just blank screen? If someone shares their screen with you, I would encourage you to SWITCH to mobile and see if you can see their shared screens on your mobile phone. If you can see their shared screen, that means the inability to see shared screens would be local to your desktop.

If you still can't view the shared screens even on mobile, I would ensure the person sharing their screen is successfully able to share that screen with others.

Did I explain that well?

Yes that is correct Rory, I am just seeing the gallery of participants

Rory,i can see screenshare on iPad and iPhone but not on Mac Mini

Thanks Nic! Means it's very likely to be local to your Mac. I took a screenshot of the tabs that populate at the top of your screen when someone initiates a screenshare. I've had a few customers in recent months not realize there were separate options, so this may be the culprit for you - to view the gallery or to view the shared screen. It requires you to click on the tab you want. This is located at the top of your Zoom Meeting window. Let me know if this works.

AH ok Rory,

I will check this the next time I am on a zoom call

thanks so much

You got it, Nic. And again, I've heard this a few times before, so if that's what it is, awesome!

Keep me posted.

Have a great rest of your week.
