Zoom Windows Client asks for location every minute

One of my users is reporting that his client is asking for permission to use his location every minute, continuously as long as the app is open. He is using the latest Windows 11 client and has phone configured, but no dedicated number assigned.

I have search around and the only two reasons for asking for the location are "Nomadic emergency services" (which is admin disabled at the organization) and "Certain phone settings", but I am struggling to find out what "Certain" means in this instance.

I cannot find any settings to change the frequency of checking for location, nor can I replicate the problem myself. It also does not seem to affect MacOS users

Check address for this Zoom user under admin>user management>users.

Run CleanZoom to remove Zoom completely.  then download and install latest Zoom Workplace App for windows.  As of 9/21/2025, the latest version is 6.6.0.
