Replacing home phone system

I am currently setting up a zoom phone system to replace a home phone system.  I have 8 total handsets (grandstream wp825) and I have them scattered around the house.  I had to set up 3 common area with calling licenses and assign 3/3/2 due to device restraints.  I have set up the two lines under shared line groups and have added the 3 common areas to each shared line group.  I edited the line arrangement to show both line 1 and line 2 on the grandstream handsets.  All of the phones ring accordingly when each line is dialed but when the call is answered, none of the phones show line 1 or 2 as active on the handset screen.  I am trying to get it set up to where somebody can join a call from another handset.  I am trying to make the use as basic as possible to mimic the old dect phone system that’s being replaced.  What am I missing?

hi @Guentherfarms

Zoom support article indicates that grandstream does not support shared lines.

Supported desk phone features

I do not have a grandstream wp825.  In my limited testing with a grandstream grp2615, the phone partially supports shared line group in that you can answer and put a call on hold on a shared line but you cannot pick up the call from another desk phone such as poly or yealink.  On shared line supported desk phones such as poly and yealink, you can put a call on hold on a supported Yealink desk and pick up the call on a supported poly desk phone.

I am not sure that you need common areas as each user supports 3 or less desk phones.  Each desk phone could have your two shared line groups.

For privacy reasons, you may want to control who can pick up active calls.

You might consider contacting grandstream to check on grandstream’s shared line support on wp825.
