はじめまして。PolyE350卓上機について有識者いたら教えてください。
着信時、国際電話番号が番号のあたまに付くため、登録連絡先扱いとならず未登録番号となり数字表示で着信されます。
(イメージ)
電話機には取引先A(電話03-0000-0000)と登録。
しかし着信時、着信画面が+8103-0000-0000となってしまう。
これを着信時、着信画面を 取引先A にしたい。

以上、よろしくお願いいたします。

How Caller ID Name Works in Japan (according to ChatGPT)

🔹 1. No Central CNAM Database

  • Japan does not maintain a centralized CNAM (Caller Name) database like in the U.S.
  • The phone number is displayed to the receiving party, but the name is not provided by the telecom network.
  • Caller ID shows the phone number only, unless the receiving device matches it with a stored contact name.

🔹 2. Name Display Is Handled Locally by the Receiving Device

  • Phones (especially mobile, desk phones, and smartphones) use their local address book or contact list to display a caller name.
  • If the number is not saved locally, only the number is displayed (e.g., +81-3-1234-5678).
  • The carrier does not send a name with the call signaling.

🔹 3. Corporate PBX/VoIP Systems

  • Businesses using VoIP or PBX systems may insert a display name in the SIP From: or P-Asserted-Identity headers.
  • However, this only works within compatible systems (e.g., SIP-to-SIP calls) and is not guaranteed across all carriers in Japan.

🔹 4. Mobile Carriers and CNAM

  • Japanese mobile carriers do not offer a CNAM service.
  • Some smartphones may attempt to identify unknown callers using third-party apps or spam-call databases, but this is not a network-provided feature.

What This Means for Poly Phones in Japan:

  • To display names on incoming calls, the Poly E350 must rely on its local contact directory.
  • If a contact is not stored, only the phone number will show.
  • You may need to normalize numbers (e.g., from +81 to 0) so they match local contact entries, as previously discussed.
