a little more information in addition to the helpful info provided by @sparrow .
There is a basic common area license that has limited features without a DID number but includes voicemail and other features explained below in the comparing common area phone and zoom phone pro. Contact sales for the pricing for a basic common area license, DID number and calling plan.
If you have a spare zoom calling plan such as US/Canada Unlimited and a spare DID number, you can assign the plan and DID number to the common area phone.
If you set up the common area phone for hotdesking, then the phone will have whatever plan and telephone number that the hotdesker has.

According to the Zoom link below. Calling plans include a telephone number and since common area licenses fail into the category of metered, that aligns with the article.
