I use a free account until I use zoom more. I set up a 30 minute meeting and checked a box to record the meeting. When the meeting started, it automatically started recording. I thought I'd be able to select start recording once the meeting started but that's OK. According to the forums and instructional tutorials, the recording goes to my computer on a free account, and I have to have a Windows version 4.0.25513.0228 or later. I have 10.0.26100 Build 26100. I've clicked on "meetings," and "recordings" to try to find it, and "computer" under recordings and it's nowhere. What am I doing wrong?

Zoom recordings on a free account are saved locally, usually in Documents > Zoom. If you don’t see it in the Zoom app under Meetings > Recorded, the file may not have converted—look for .zoom files and double-click to process. Also ensure your disk had space and Zoom wasn’t closed too early.

Click on Open recordings at the bottom of the Home tab in the Workplace app and in Local recordings you should be able to find.

Thank you for your reply. I do not have that option on my screen. HOWEVER, I did find my mistake. I was looking everywhere on my zoom app. I got chatbox help and still couldn't find it. MY MISTAKE was, I was looking on my hard drive under "downloads" and it was under a zoom folder in "documents." Ugggh. Glad I found it. Finally, after DAYS of searching and stepping away in frustration. I hope this helps others.

I've tried everything I could find online about locating recordings on my computer. I followed your advice too, but the files are not anywhere. I tried finding them from the Zoom Workplace screen too. The host always gives permission for us to record but the recordings are never on my laptop. I have the latest version and more than enough storage space on my computer. The only recordings I have are the meetings I hosted. I only use the free version. What do you mean if "Zoom wasn't closed too early"?

I think the other poster meant the meeting didn't close early, where it might have cut off my recording.
I found the solution. Documents > Zoom then open the folder and you'll see the recording file. I kept looking under "Downloads," as well as on the Zoom app, and went in frustrating circles. I never thought to look in my system "Documents." I hope this helps you.

Thank you for your reply. You are correct. It was under Documents > Zoom. I kept looking under Downloads. Even though I read, and reread to look for it under "Documents," I kept looking under "Downloads." Ugh. Now I know.
