zoom for gsuite in safari

I use my personal zoom account on my MacBook with Safari with no problems, it's fantastic.  I'm trying to use zoom for gsuite in my work group's gsuite workspace and I cannot sign in.  It was suggested that I download Chrome but I do not want to do that as it seems unnecessary.  Can zoom for gsuite be used with Safari or is Chrome required?  It seems like I should be able to use it as seamlessly with Safari in gsuite as I do from my personal, online zoom account.

Safari works well with Google Workspace, but doesn't support:

• Offline access to Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides
• Desktop notifications in Gmail
• Accessibility tools (for example, screen readers)
