zoom background keeps going away each day--it won't 'stick' now. why?

I have the settings on for a Zoom background, and I now have to manually select one every day.   Over the past month, the Zoom background keeps going away.  Every morning on my first Zoom meeting it defaults to my 'live' background.  I then have to manually select a background now--the background used to 'stick', but now it keeps going away.    Is there a setting I'm missing?
