On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

using Zoom extension for Google Calendar for recurring appointments

I am using the Zoom extension for Google Calendar (in Chrome) to keep track of my client appointments (i.e., Zoom meetings). If a client has a recurring Zoom meeting at the same day and time every week, will the Zoom link that the extension sends in the invite continue to work each week?

Yes, if you create a recurring Zoom meeting using the Zoom extension for Google Calendar in Chrome, the Zoom link (meeting ID and passcode) included in the calendar invite will remain the same and continue to work each week, as long as:

  1. You chose "Recurring meeting" when creating it.

  2. The recurrence is set in Google Calendar (e.g., every Wednesday at 3 PM).

  3. You don't delete or modify the meeting in a way that breaks the recurrence (e.g., canceling the series or changing it to a one-time meeting).
